I would use ifanview and save it as a jpeg or you can use norton elemen the same way

Start the Paint program included with Windows
(Start menu > All Programs > Accessories > Paint)
Open the bit map file
Do a Save As....
Under the filename, change the filetye to jpeg
Save the file
Done....
