Why is my Ms Word file different from one PC to another?

Question

All PC's have XP SP2, Ms Office 2003 etc.
I have checked to Options and all seem to be default, so why is it when I open a file that was created on a different computer, it's a;; over the place?

The most likely reasons are
1, page size is different - check A4 or Letter - these are different sizes
2, The fonts used may not be installed on both PCs, one may be using a font substitution.
3, The normal.dot is different on the PCs - this is the default template. It may have been changed by some of the users.

If in fact the two PCs where configured exactly the same, the file should look exactly the same. But chances are some settings in MsWord are different, or maybe the screen setting is different. Have you looked at some evident things like the zoom of the page. I mean, I just ask, don't mean to be insulting with the observation... but check that kind of things.
