Word has an equation editor mode which is used for entering equations with superscripts and subscripts.

Press the Ctrl-Shift-Plus keys at the same time to make all text superscript. Press Esc to end superscript mode.

Depending on your version of MS Word, you may have the right click option available. The above works for Office 2003 and earlier versions.

im not sure what you mean, but if you want to write the power, like 5 to the power of 3, type in the first number, and then press crtl+shift+ +/=. then put in the power, and press the same combination from before to return to normal writing

if you're talking about actaully doing the equation, then i don't know

Word actually has a nice Equation editor that you can use if you go to Insert, Object, and scroll down to Microsoft Equation Editor 3.0

It's pretty easy to use. Just watch the status bar for hints.

Right-click the number then format it as a SUPERSCRIPT.
