Try aloe (from the plant), benadryl cream, or even hemorhoid cream (this last cream works for facial puffiness too--celebrities use it). Then for shaving, use a shaving cream for sensitive skin and invest in a good razor (I find Bic razors are terrible on my legs)

not sure of an over the counter med, but this can be prevented,,, theres alot of great shave creams and gels on the market now... as far as your face, dont irritate it with soap or cologne, itll onnly worsen the problem...if you really need som over the counter treatment, ask the pharmacist... thats their job.... and they know of all the products available ... even over the counter!good luck!!

they are probably ingrown hairs. the best way to prevent them is to use a good shave gel, and to not shave against the direction your beard hairs grow. when you run your fingers over your face tommorrow, note the direction you move your finger when your face feels smoother, and the direction you move your finger when your face feels more scratchy or sandpaper-like. if your face feels smoother when you move your finger down your face, shave up to down. if your face feels smoother when you move your finger up your face, shave from down to up. another solution is to use an electric razor. it takes your face a little while to get used to an electric razor, so you might be a bit stubbly for a bit.

This may sound weird, but it works. Crush up some aspirin put it in some water and rub it on. It will tingle, after about 2-3 min. wash your face. You can also try my favorite thing to use for everything; BAKING SODA!!!!
