Anybody know how to throw an overhand sinker in baseball?

I want to force those double plays! I throw rh, about 75-78

It's easier than you might think.
1)Hold the ball with the seams instead of across them
2)Apply a little pressure to the bottom of the ball with your thumb

This will reduce the 6-12 spin. Also, be aware that using your thumb will reduce velocity a little, but that's ok. If you use the same arm speed as your fastball, the difference in speed will be negligible and the drop will be just enough to get your double play ball.

Going further. Take a little off of it. You now have a terrific off-speed pitch that sinks alot more. You'll get some K's out of it, but you'll get a ton of weak ground balls to 3rd base.

Throw it just like your fast ball but squeeze the ball - use a tight grip to stay on top of the ball instead of letting it go loose like your fastball (tighter wrist). If you don't get good movement add the third finger to your grip and grip across the seams to take a little off. If the ball starts to tail almost like a slider without as much movement that's ok but move to the first base side of the rubber or you'll get too much plate. (same pitch Mariano Rivera and K-Rod throw)

if you've got big hands, bypass the sinker. throw a split finger. hold the ball at the wide part of the seams, like a two seam fastball and spread those fingers out as far as possible.

If you kill your arm throwing the splitter, you would have done it anyways. If you throw the splitter right, its just like throwing any fastball.

I don't know how to throw a sinker...but avoid the splitter! you'll kill ur arm. I used to throw it, and i am now through with baseball cuz i can't throw.

I know how to throw one and do in my games but it would be hard to explain so i suggest typing it in on images or something
