Other than the OBVIOUS answers that Chinese provides countless job opportunities, and that China's population makes up over a sixth of the world population, why would anyone learn Chinese?

there was a study that shows that learning chinese or asian-languages can improve your math skills in general. besides, it is a beautiful language.

which one of 20-some dialects do you have in mind? If we have to learn a second language it should be that of the Natives of your region, be it Hopi or Iroqouis.
