The attendence in 2005 was around 14.5 million. If you were to divide that by 365 (days in a year), you would get 39,000 people. Of course, these people could go 4 hours a day, and go across the way to Disney's California Adventure. So, it's not that bad as you think. Some days it must reach higher than this because this is an average, and sometimes it doesn't.

It depends on what kind of day it is, what season it is, what day of the week, if it's a holiday, etc. It varies.
I remember working crowded summer weekends where DL capacity would often reach 60,000 people easily. A manager once told us that average was about 45,000 though. They used to tell us how many people were in the park that day at the beginning of our daily "team meetings" before every shift, but the last two years I worked there they stopped doing that (only a couple managers and leads would do it), because they didn't want us to tell the guests and freak them out (guests would OFTEN ask how many people were in the park that day). I can understand their reasoning.

I don't know the number but I was just their on Monday and I wasn't as full as it is on Saturday.During the week it's a little less crowed and you can get on the rides a little faster.
