No, I'm sure she knows you've had a lot of stuff to pay for. Just make the effort to get her a nice card.

She probably will understand but do something for her my husband then boyfriend did have any money but made me dinner and dessert i was so surprise when he did this for me i wasn't expecting anything(and i was a bit disappointed) but that all change when he did this so even if you cant buy something for her make her something just to let her know how special she is that will be a WHOLE lot better than a gift will because you made an effort to make her some thing good luck

She will NOT understand, every girl with a partner expects something for Valentines day. She might say (and every other girl on here) that she understands, but she'll be dissappointed.

I suggest doing something nice for her, thats still a gift. You dont have to buy her something to give her something. Make her dinner, or watch her favorite program with her, give her a massage (a proper one!), make her a card, call her when you know she wont pick up and leave her a soppy Voice Mail, but dont just say "sorry honey I didnt get you anything because im broke" be creative!!

You don't have to spend money to make Valentines day romantic. Personally I'm not too fussed about Valentines day but I don't know your girlfriend so the best advice is to not take the risk! Why don't you run her a bubble bath for when she gets home, loads and lods of candles are essential (you can buy big bags of tealights for about £1!) and while shes in the bathe mke her a nice meal, again it doesn't have to be extravegant, its the thought that counts! Then snuggle down and watch a DVD before going to bed for some romance!!! Hehehehe.......

That would make for a lovely Valentines day. Me and my boyfriend are making each other cards ths year as we don't want to get caught up in all the commercial, money grabbing sh*t that the stores push on us every year! Good luck :) XXX

Try to do as many things as possible to make up for it that don't cost money - such as a massage. At least this way you can show her you care. Could you maybe borrow money from a friend to buy something?

Explain to her at the start of whatever you decide to do briefly so that is is mentioned but doesn't sound like some big excuse, something just to say that you didn't have much money so couldn't get her anything big but hope that she will appreciate what you can do for her.

No one should HAVE to BUY a gift for Valentines. You could simply fix her dinner or make her a card. There are many ways you can express how you feel at Valentines that doesn't involve spending any money. If she can't understand your financial obligations, where would this relationship go anyway?

My partners mate has exactly the same problem! I just told him to stay in,wrap up snug with his girlie and watch the Brit Awards! A couple of bevvies may go down a treat to!
If this doesn't work run her a bath with loads of bubbles and put out some nice candles and give her a lovely massage after!

After all, why should you have to buy a card to prove you love someone on one day of the year when you should let that person know you love them everyday of the year?!

She might understand if you do something else. You can do lots of things that don't cost much. Do something romantic like fix her dinner and have a sweet romantic dessert. Make an effort to light candles, sprinkle rose petals around and play some soft, romantic music.

I'm sure if you explain that she will understand u could still do something that doesn't cost much like a romantic picnic 4 example a walk on the beach (free) or a cosy night in

Well, maybe you could do something for her, like cook her a nice romance meal. with romance music, candles, and derrsert, and after that cuddle by the fire , in a blanget and watch a movie you two might like, it doesn't mean you have to spend money on V-day to show someone you love? Good luck and hoped I helped.

Yes, she will. She may not say anything but yes she will.

Can you make her a gift? It's short notice, but can you do this? A collage of the things that mean a lot to you? Even a homemade card and a cookie is better than nothing.

Good luck.
