I am now leaning towards Japanese as their are less characters to memorize (letters vs words).

Both of these languages are extremely useful for a business/economics major.

Japanese is easier to pronounce than Chinese, because Chinese is tonal.

To read/write Japanese, you need to know hiragana, katakana, and kanji. Hiragana and katakana are not difficult to learn. The standard number of kanji to know is 1,945.

To read/write in Chinese, you need to know about 3,000-5,000 characters.

Chinese characters typically have one way to pronounce them, but Japanese characters usually have at LEAST two ways to say them.

Chinese grammar is much easier than Japanese grammar. Chinese is a SVO (subject verb object) language, just like English. Japanese, on the other hand, is a SOV (subject object verb) language, so it is often difficult for English-speakers to understand initially.

Those are some things to consider. It's your decision. Either language will be useful!

I honestly discovered Japanese already and proper now i'm learning trade informatics in a Japanese institution, But i'm pondering the identical factor you're, Chinese financial system is rapid developing and it might be an capabilities to be trained Chinese. within the different hand, Japanese financial system isn't left in the back of, Japan additionally has an overly robust financial system as it's now. So my factor is why no longer be trained each establishing with Japanese considering it's the one you consider extra interested on. If you're employed rough it'll take you approximately a 12 months to be trained Japanese after which you'll be able to begin with the Chinese. That's honestly what i plan to do. I began finding out Japanese final 12 months after which i bought right into a institution in japan and subsequent 12 months i am planing to begin finding out Chinese. well success.

Japan has a bigger and more stable economy than China, but China's is growing faster. Japanese people on the other hand are much nicer than Chinese people. Japanese practice humility while Chinese will talk down to you regardless who you are. To use Chinese and not go insane you would have to go to Taiwan and their economy isn't very big. My suggestion would to study Hindi. Civil unrest in the Chinese countryside and an overheated economy are creating a disaster waiting to happen. India is chosen to bypass China on almost every scale. Plus Hindi is similar to Urdu (although Hindi is written in Devanagari and Urdu is written similar to arabic) so you could communicate with Pakistan as well.

I'd say Mandarin ( widely spoken slang in Chinese ) . Coz China is fast becoming an economy superpower & that China is opening up it's door to the world . In a few years time China's economy will far exceed that those of Japenese . So I'd go with Chinese .

If you feel like Japanese is easier then go ahead and take it. I don't think which language you take will make much of a difference.
