There are five lines on a music staff. If you are looking in treble clef (The one that is swirly at the bottom) the lines, from bottom to top are E, G, B, D, F and the spaces are F A C E
If you are reading bass clef (The one that looks like a backwards C) the lines are G B D F A and the spaces are A C E G
Hope that makes sense :)

On a treble cleff (the top one that most people would use) they go like this:You start with C because in music you start from C and go to B. C (middle C is the main C) isn't really on the staff. You draw a line underneath and middle C goes on that. D goes on the space underneath the staff. E is the first line. F is the first space. G is the second line. A is the third space. B is the third line. Then it starts over, so high C is the fourth space and so on.

There are different staffs that you can use. A really common one is called "treble clef". It's the one that has the big thing that kind of looks like & on it.
On the treble clef, the notes go like this:
bottom line E
bottom space F
second line up G
second space up A
third line up B
third space up C
fourth line up D
fourth space up E
fifth line F
There's a mnemonic to remember the lines: Every Good Boy Does Fine. (EGBDF)
And the spaces are FACE -> face.
E-mail me if you want more information.
