Global warming is low of the priorities of most Filipinos. Trying to earn a living is much higher.
Now, there is SOME indication of a slight warming trend (especially at night) which has happened many times before (as have Ice Ages). Almost every "scientist" who says there is a crisis is getting their income from research on, guess what? - global warming. In the 1960s, it was some of these same people who were warning of "global cooling" due to particulates in the atmosphere. The world went through periods of warming and cooling - very similar to today - repeatedly. I am angered that these shallow "scientists" are frightening people all over the world so they can make more money from research grants.
By the way, one of my two Ph.D. degrees is in geochronology. There is evidence of slight warming, but this could end in the next year. If I felt there was 1% probability of real danger to my children and grandchildren, I would be worried. I am not.

I think we are all so irresponsible. We don't really know very much about global warming as is obvious from these answers. Let's find out what it will mean for future generations and be prepared to to what we can to improve the situation. It may well be just another cyclical change in the earth's many trillions of years of history but if we do not know what the scientific answers are, then we can't really express opinions. We are such a self-centred generation that we seem to have no interest in anything but our own pleasure.

The little that The Philippines contributes to global warming pales into insignificance compared to what is contributed by The US and other Wester countries.
The US and Japan must be contributing at least 50% if not more. How much burning garbage is required to have the same effect as the Yank petrol guzzler?
It is sad but true that the Filipino has a lot to learn about street and river pollution but who is going to teach them? Surely not the Yanks.
Out of curiousity Diamond where do you hail from?

Only the well read and the highly educated could care about global warming in the Philippines. People are too bust ekeing out a living, getting stressed, and now, too busy about the carnival of a local election.

I surmise its YOU who just knew global warming. And a little of it after you hear your vice pres talk about global warming. Do you know that it is america who polluted the world? Do you know that american factories located in other countries are polluting the air? Do you know that your vice pres blamed america for greatly contributing the global warming and has not done anything to counter its bad effect?
Do you know that america made the outer space its garbage dumpsite? Of course you know that american streets are littered with dogs' poohs.
My country, Philippines will sadly suffer the effects of global warming because of you shameful, malicious, mischevous peoples of the earth.
May you be plutoed from the face of the earth!

Just as soon as you give them diesel mowers to chop down fields of pretend sunflowers that sprout 6 feet in 3 weeks.
As soon as you wise them up that incinerators are safer than garbage dumps.
As soon as they get provided with trash and garbage pickup. I'll have you know that we don't do that in my house, but it is a pain having to go 15 minutes to the main highway for garbage pickup.
Besides, I don't think that right now most people around the Great Lakes would agree with you

Can you mention at least one country that cares about global warming?
Polluting the streets or dumping of garbage anywhere like you claim here has little effect on global warming..
How about those giant factories in US, Canada, Eupor, China that pollutes the air and the atmosphere?
How about the NASA exploration , the aircraft carriers, the millions of vehicles in the US..all cars, machines, and equipments that uses gasoline, diesel, crude oil..dont hey have effects on global warming?
How about the the plastic materials that all country are using? they are non biodegradable or recyclable....it takes millions years before they vanish
Now, you tell me..does your country, or the US or Canada, or any country in Europe, Africa, Asia care about global warming?..

philippines is not the main source of pollution in the world and we do care about global warming...actually philippines does contribute to pollution in the world but not at a high rate....because philippines is a very small country therefore it contributes less pollution in the environment....large countries are the main source of pollution because they occupy a wider area, hence a high rate of pollution on the environment....and in fact nowadays the FILIPINOS are becoming more concern to their environment.....;p
