I purchased a new GT500 and it hasn't impressed me with its performance. I am the fortunate owner of a 69 Yenko Camaro and it has so much more off the line and doesn't seem nearly as hard and bulky as the 500 is. I bought one because my friend who is a dealer insisted I do and he sold me at cost. Its the worst money I have spent on what I thought would be compared to the past Shelbys I have owned. The car weighs too much has too many options which add to the weight and just too many electronics in it. So if someone out there wants to buy this thing let me know. I will sell it at sticker price. I has only 366 miles on it and its in my garage now waiting for a new owner. Thanks for the opportunity to comment here.

Most of the new versions of the old school muscle is over rated ...Most people are mis lead by todays horsepower ( which is not good) as compared to yesterdays horsepower, and muscle which to me was like no other found in today's market ..CAUTION the dealer is there to make his commission, he will tell you anything to make the sale...Car dealers do not care about you and will tell you anything to take your money, I too thought of getting one but I have heard many stories such as yours now my mind is made up ....I am going back to real, raw,
American horse & muscle . everybody else can have these disposible , plastic toys called cars ....I want the real thang

The yenko if I remember was also lightened even more than a normal camero helping out.

Some dealers forget to do this, so before you sell your 500, disconnect the battery for a while then reconnect it. Ford puts a feature in the PCM to limit performance while on the dealers lot but the PCM is supposed to be reset by disconnecting it before being sold to the owner.

If the performance isn't what you wanted afterwards, I'm sorry
to hear that...

see if valet option is still on wont let you really nail it. 500 hp doesnt impress ya I guess your picky cause the one I drove scared the crap out of me. And I had a 70 Camaro with LS-7 alum head turbo 400 hi11 car.. The stang I drove would do a burnout as long as I kept my foot in it and I had it over 100 still smoking tires. Salesman was pissed throw us out of dealership. They also threatned to turn me into FORD for recklessly driving the car.Yenko was also already a big block that was race tuned by Don Yenko a purpose built race car not a factory car. I agree ford has over hyped the car. For the price it ought to have race exhaust, bigfat rear tires. and should nt look like everyother stang out there.
