Is the 99 Chevy Malibu a good car?

I will be getting my first car, it's going to be a 1999 Chevy Malibu. I have heard a lot of bad reviews and some good ones. What kind of experiences have you guys had? Is it worth $4000?

They rust, the interior and body are cheaply made, and they are pretty reliable cars. You could do a lot worse...

If it has the Quad-4 engine ,don`t even consider it.

id rather drive a ford and **** on a chevy
