When I diconnect the power cord the computer completely shuts down like I powered it off. Other than that the laptop works fine. It's about 13 months old.

Well, the battery is probably fried. Either that or the connection for the battery is either corroded or not seated properly.

Try pulling the battery out and then putting it back in, while it is unplugged. Then try to power it on without AC power.

If that doesn't work then check the connectors that the battery connects to, if they are not gold and shiny then you need to clean them.

If everything looks good, then it is probably the battery. Take it to a local battery shop and get it tested.

Sounds like you have defective battery if it doesn't even keep the computer running. You might want to check with the manufacture and see if they can figure out why your computer is acting the way that it is.

u just need a new batterie.......my laptop used to do that too but it doesnt anymore
