There are other issue much more important than global warming. However, to address your question, yes, I believe that the "automatics" of the earth will take over and make the changes needed to reverse the problem. Ocean currents are a major player in this issue. If the salinity of ocean water changes enough then the currents will change which would tend to make things slow down. I doubt if we would see a true "water world", or even anything remotely like it.
Man, however, is basically to greedy or lazy to do it for himself. If this were not true we would see changes taking place right now. The industrialists don't want to, it would cost to much. The average person tends to look either at the whole picture and is overwhelmed by it, or complains, but does go out and buy the new car that uses gasoline as s fuel rather than seeking an alternative that could be a help, even if it is just a drop in the proverbial bucket. I'm not talking about the hybrids either, they are a waste of time, and good engineering. Plant derived fuels with a gain of 0 to the atmosphere for carbon emissions are well known, but no one in energy production is going to go to them because of the expense as well as not being able to rally control them. The economics of the situation is the key to the problem. We the people can make a difference, IF we want to, but how many will?

I do hope so, my kids are still young as I married late, they age 12, 8, and 6 today.

We will live through this global warming, only and if we do something about it, and not wait for more "Katrina's" and "Indian Ocean Quake's" to come in our way.

The movie "The Day After Tomorrow" will become a reality sooner than we think it will, if we do not put our acts together and save Mother Earth, so that Mother Nature would not wreak more damage, which might lead to mankind's extinction.

Yes, people were talking about global warming for years and years ago. We'll be fine.

Definitely. Humans are so adaptable, short of blowing the earth up, we'll come up with a solution. Life has always evolved, and will continue to do so. We'll loose polar bears, penguins, and pine trees, but some sort of heat resistent flora and fauna will take their place. We won't like it because it's not what we're used to, but we lost Mamoths, Saber tooths, Giant Bears, and a bunch of other critters to global warming already. Do you miss them? :)

Long run? Humans? Nope.. (but dont worry you'll prob kill yerselves long before Golbal warming you caused does it to ya .. or from related causes) but other species will survive... its happened before.. even humans know that thru biology and geology.. Humans are on thier way out... such is history.. and its a good thing in my estimation...

My bet on the next intelligent species of Earth is Ants( though a few species have some scarey traits).. and well who am I gonna collect from when I turn out to be right (AGAIN) LOL... (oh dont worry I'll collect but it wont be from a homosapiens.. thats not who my bet is with hehehe)

Forget the US, America will survive. Canada, Russia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, and Eastern Europe will be the ones most greatly affected by the consequences of America's, China's, India's, Brazil's, and Mexico's pollution. Canada, being another huge greenhouse gas emitter, itself is helping to ceal its own fate.

Yes. As long as people starts show concern to save themselves by a simple action of taking care of our environment.

IF men don't come together and take on an action, then NO we'll all die.
