The more specific your answer is, the better. The answer can be somewhere in an ocean if that's what you think it is. If you want to guess, that's fine as long as you can reason your answer. Thank you.

Hardi, the line AB that I had in mind goes along the Earth's surface and not through it. I'm only in regular geometry, unfortunately. The best I can tell you is, give me whatever answer you can give me.

Point Nemo is 2,688 km from land -- that's as far as you can get on the surface of the Earth. It's in the Pacific ocean, at 48° 52.6′ S, 123° 23.6′ W. About half-way between the southern tip of South America, and New Zealand.

That's my guess for the farthest away from humans, in general. I think that there are a lot of people at science stations around the rim of Antarctica.

Hi, I think we first have define the meaning of your words, if we want to deal with this question in a scientific way.

1. The way on the surface of our earth from a point A to an other point B can easily calculated, assuming the geometrical form of the earth is a sphere ( which it is`nt!) and it should be the shortest way.
We have to specify the shortest way in our definition, because there are indefinite numbers of ways to go from A to B, like in spirals!

2. The shortest way from A to B shall also be the longest way.
If you are not familiar with spherical geometry just take a globe and fine string. Choose your point A and fix the string on the globe (without demaging it!). Then you will quickly find out, that the so called "antipode" is B. You take a drill ( only as an imagination!) and drill a whole beginning in A, going through the center of our earth and coming out at the "antpode". Now you have point B.

Understood! If my statements did not answer your question, you have to be more specific.
