Is adopting babies from Africa the new trend in Hollywood?

It seems to be. I question celebrities motives sometimes. I wonder if they really care about the problems that are going on in Africa and want to help or they just trying to make themselves look good for hollywood. What do you think?

I think most of it is publicity. I am a firm believer that if you have money and you want to adopt children adopt them from your own country. There are MANY children in the United States that need homes.

I guess so Madonna and Angelina are all doing it. Don't know why they go that far and bring over disease that r in Africa. Oh and they do it for publicity too.

I haven't decided if celebrities are adopting babies from other countries because:

a) they are generous, compassionate people,

b) it is easier than adopting an American baby,

or

c) they simply don't want to lose work and gain weight, etc. due to their own pregnancies

Those are my theories, and I guess it also depends on the celebrity.
