I have two. Alexis Bledel who plays Rory of Gilmore Girls or Keira Knightley from Pride and Prejudice. There she gave such a marvelous performance! She is famous for her talent not her looks!

My favorite actress, while she is not known in the mainstream as an actress, but more of a singer, is Cyndi Lauper. Cyndi has great acting ability, and although some of the movies she's been in haven't had very good scripts, her perfromances are always great! She even won an Emmy Award for her guest appearance, back in '95, on the sitcom "Mad About You." Also, just last year she starred in The Threepenny Opera on Broadway. I went and saw her and she was phenomenal!
