The same reason they write their instead of there, or your instead of you're. Some people do not realize that it is incorrect.

to be honest, i dont really know. I do it, it gives me the shits. right after ive written it, i look at it and think "bwaaaaaah i did it again, ahhh *** it people will know what i mean
i think i started doing it coz of the word "into" why isnt that in to. or in'to
