I am 24 weeks tomorrow and barely showing. Only now can people tell I am pregnant and most women I know tell me they cant believe Im 6 months because Im still not showing much.
ANyways, the other day I was at the grocery store and a woman who works there asks "Are you due soon?" and I said "At the end of May" and she looked shocked. She said "WOW Are you having twins?!"
I wasnt offended, but I was surprised by her comment..didnt know people actually said things like that lol!

The only reason I didnt get mad is because Ive been wanting to show. I started out at 179 and now weight 185, even though I havent gained much weight I feel like a cow. I want to at least LOOK pregnant.

*LOL* Yeah you'd be surprised. I actually had someone who used to go to school with me ask if I was gaining weight. I told them of course, isn't that what pregnant women do. I would have rather them asked am I having twins or are you pregnant. They were a little embarrassed and apologized. I am 14 weeks and 2 days and barely showing but this person knew me until we graduated and since I haven't gained any weight. I still haven't gained weight, but I guess I've got a pregnancy belly already. He sees me here and there but we never had the time to talk. With my friends and family I had heard other comments like "Are you pregnant" or "Are you having twins" etc, but this one topped the cake for me.

People say the stupidest things to a pregnant woman. I got the exact same comment in my first pregnancy, and I hadn't gained much weight at all. It's just something to ignore, though I would love to have an arsenal of snappy comebacks!
Here is an article I think you will enjoy: http://babyfit.sparkpeople.com/articles.asp?id=510
It is about stupid things people say to pregnant women. Check out the comments as well, for some funny stories.

I have had people point and laugh and say that my belly is huge - i am about 135 pounds and 37 weeks pregnant and i do look like i swallowed a ball but am suprised at the stares - i didnt expect that. I have put on about 20 pounds.
Just walk away - who cares whether you look big or small for your due date - your pregnant and in 16 weeks you can start getting your body back.

If most people think you aren't showing much, then you probably aren't. Maybe she was as big as a house when she was pregnant and was jealous because you weren't. Yes people say stupid things like that all the time, most of the time it is because of jealousy or just plain stupidity! I'm surprised with pregnancy hormones you didn't bite her head off! LOL

Well I can tell you that my sister was 6 months with both of her sons and she didn't know she was pregnant until they started kicking. My sister wieghs 110. So i wouldn't feel to bad about that. However as far as that comment goes I would just let it go in one ear and out the other. People have made comments like that to me but I know that I don't look that big and their comments are not worth me getting upset about. If you feel good about yourself and know how you look considering you are the one that sees your belly everyday just let it roll off your shoulders

I only gained 10 pounds during my pregnancy with my son and you couldn't tell i was pregnant at all the entire time. I was not on the heavy side. I weighed like 130 pounds and i did not have to wear maternity clothes at all. It was hard for nurses to believe i was pregnant when i went to the hospital for various reasons. My son was and is healthy. He weighed 4lbs, 15.6oz & was 17 inches long at birth but now he is 5 years old weighing 67 pounds. He isn't fat, he is tall and built like his grandpa who is very tall and husky like. You cannot tell that he was so little at birth now. I had him at 35 weeks due to pre-eclampsia well that and they couldn't stop my labor.

People say dumb stuff all the time, don't worry about it. She was probably bitter because she was blimp sized during her own pregnancy. Oddly, women are catty that way.
