You are confusing honesty for hatred. When people on this forum advise against buying cheap bikes, it is an honest effort to save the person asking the question money. Riding twice a week is probably more than most cheap bikes are designed for depending on how far you plan to go. Cruiser bikes are designed for leisurely rides at low speed over very short distances. The riding position on a cruiser is very inefficient and the heavy weight and lack of gears make riding one quite a bit of work compared to say a lightweight hybrid. The good news is that single speed cruisers are pretty simple and there isn't much to go wrong if the bike is assembled properly. Proper assembly means not only putting the bike together, but also making sure that wheel and pedal bearings are properly adjusted. It is true that inexpensive bikes break down much more often than good ones. If you ride a lot the price of part replacement and repair will soon make a cheap bike cost more than an expensive one. The reason why companies making cheap bikes don't go out of business is the current love affair that consumers have with low prices, they simply don't know any better. So they keep on buying cheap stuff. In fact this means that cheap bike companies will never run out of customers, they are back in the market for another cheap bike in a year or two
