I think you're asking which types are used the most?
Probably C and C++.
There's more Java than there used to be, but it's still not that common for households to run pure Java programs.

Most complex things are in C++
Some things, like the UPS software used by an office, are done in VB.

All of it. Every computer is run by code. Usually several types of code, java,html,c++,xml, and scripting laguagges. So are all applications. It is not magic.
