I was thinking that maybe it would be a better idea to buy a pair of pomeranians instead of 1 by itself, cause at least he/she would have a companion. Is that silly of me to think so? I just thought it would be nice, and if your answer is yes, should it be: Boy/Girl, Boy/Boy or Girl/Girl?

To DA: I'm a fan of big dogs myself, I love Rottweilers, but unfortunately I dont have the space for them, but I love pomeranians because they are so fluffy and cute..

I think it's a great idea to get 2 Poms. They will have each other to keep company and play with, and when you have to leave them alone, you won't have as much of a problem, with seperation anxiety. You can get any gender you want, just make sure, if you don't want puppies, you get them fixed, if you get a little boy and a little girl. Have fun with your new babys's. And no, your not being silly!

Imagine this: If you were a 'pet human' for a household of dogs, would you appreciate another human to talk to?
Yes, you should get two poms. A male and female and you need to have them neutered if you're not planning to breed. Poms are so cute, my daughter has a little 4 lb red male named Belvedere and a female named Annie.

you could easily end up with two dog who really don't need you for anything other then filling their bowl and letting them out the door. they will bond to each other more then you in some cases. Why not get one and decide if you really want another dog a little later. Remember, twice as many messes to clean up after, twice the vet bills. Twice the pet food. They might not get along and fight. They are going to bark more then if you had just one. Plus do you have time to train two dogs at once? It sounds easy until you actually have to do it. And a male/female pair usually get along better. Since the female will probably run the joint. ;-P Remember its never too late to get the other dog.

depends how much experience you have with dogs - if you havent had one or dont have much time for a pet, id just get one. if youre a dog lover like me, two should be fine. just be warned they might be a handful : )

also, it doesnt matter what gender if youre getting them spayed or neutered, but i wouldnt get boy/girl unless you want puppies!

If you do get two dogs, it's always best to get a male and a female - it cuts down on territorial issues.

I am a firm believer that dogs are happier with another dog around since they are pack animals.

I think that if it were me I would get two girls, then they would have a playmate and you would have two to love instead of one. I have always wanted two of these dogs, I think that they are just adorable. Enjoy them.

I would agree with you that they like the companionship when you are gone. I would say boy/girl.
