You should try to go about this in a non-naggy way.
Write him a note explaining that he was unclear about his answer, and that you would really like to get to know him better.
On the bottom write "Circle one of the following YES NO I'M STILL THINKING, BUT WILL GIVE YOU A CLEAR ANSWER TOMORROW"
Oh, and don't forget to include your phone number on the note too.

If he has not given you a straight answer then he is not your boyfriend. You can ask him again and if you get the same no answer then you have your answer because he do not want to be your boyfriend. Then you go and find someone who likes your for you and be careful.

When I was in the 8th grade the boy passed me a note that said he liked me and I passed it back saying I liked him too. We both just assumed we were boyfriend and girlfriend. One kiss, three notes and two weeks later it was over...ah, middle school love...

Honey, just ask him to go out and do something with just you.(movies, skating, bowling, McDonalds...) If he says yes, then talk to him when out together. If he says no, and doesn't give you a reason why not, then, I guess it wasn't meant to be.
Does he talk to you at school, are you friends, do you hang out together or in a group? Does he feel uncomfortable around you with his friends?
