You can't.
Media Center comes with Vista Home Premium & Vista Ultimate.

Get ready for more disappointment .... I had Vista Ultimate (I get it free due to my line of work) since last November & just decided to remove it & reinstall XP MCE....
"Vista's legal fine print raises red flags"?
http://www.thestar.com/business/article/...
I will not be told by Microsoft what I can or cannot instal on my own PC .... nothing to do with compatability ...if they feel it is a copyright infringemnet ... the OS will stop you from using it.
regards,
Philip T

You need to get Windows Vista Premium Edition or Windows Vista Ultimate Edition to get the Media Center.
Check the following link to know the comparison between various editions of Windows Vista,

I don't know where to download it but you learned a very good lesson.
Don't PUT ON a new OS version of windows until you have given it about 90 days out in the public.
Read all the items that don't work and give the websites time to have the downloads and fixes ready.
Only get the new OS if you have to buy a computer right away.
Sorry, if this doesn't help, but if you don't find anything today, you will in about 3 weeks when 50,000 other people figure out the same missing program you you did.

Windows Media Edition is OEM (original equipment manufacturer) which means you cannot purchase that OS in a box at a retail outlet; so if you dont have the installation cd Media Center may be hosed.

My personal guarantee: Vista has been available to the world for a few days, and no one is an expert on it yet.
I'd do a search at http://www.windowsupdate.com - that's Microsoft's updates site, and it probably has a patch to get you back up and running on the Media Center.

Did you get Home Basic? If you did, it was not included in the download and you may have to purchase it. Check this website for details.
