Using an agent is usually a good idea, but I suggest finding someone to help you create a website to sell your house. Don't forget to advertise in the local newspaper classifieds, as well. Put out a FOR SALE BY OWNER sign, and include links to the website in both of those.

Advertising is easy. Getting buyer's agents to show their clients a for sale by owner home, that is another story. Buyer's agents will hide your listing from their clients.

There are other sites that don't charge you agent fees too, like buyowner.com

you'll probably find quite a bit if you (do an Internet) search for things like "for sale by owner"

I would recommend an agent. If your not even sure where to advertise you may want to get one. Finding a spot to advertise is the easy part. If this is causing you trouble, I assure you the rest of the process is not any easier.
Good luck,
