I have microsoft office 2003: student and teacher edition and my friend wants to borrow it so she can download it onto her computer (esp. Powerpoint). Do you think it's a good idea?

It is called "against the law". More than likely - when your friend updates her Windows software - she will get flagged with an illegal copy.

I've had friends "borrow" things before.
As a matter of fact, a "friend" has a book of mine right now. It's been six months
Either she can't read or she is learning to.
tell your friend to download OpenOffice
it's just the same as MS Office

and it's free

If it has a coa, she can't. It is never a good idea to loan software, especially expensive software.
