I have also used paypal for years with no problems untill now. Even if you follow all the rules, they can still take your money for no reason. The site I listed is so you can read how other people have been cheated, not to promote the other business!

Amen. I agree 100% as paypal is a bunch of scam artists. I hope the FTC finally shuts them down.
How can people be so stupid as to pay fees on an item twice? Ebay owns Paypal remember. Also you are not as secure as you think people read the fine print!!
Paypal does not fall under the same rules as a bank because they are not a bank.
also look at http://www.paypalsucks.com/
By the way pete you don't need to thumbs down other people and be insulting.
I never fell for a scam. In fact I was a victim of identity theft. But do you think paypal listens. I sent in the police reports and the FTC affidavits. I even reported it to the FBI. But guess what does paypal do anything. NOPE! Are they regulated like a bank? NOPE! So don't pretend that they do there job especially when ebay makes it where people are conned into using paypal.
Also ask yourself this. How does paypal make a profit and charge the low fees to process the EFT's and the credit card transactions? They have to pay for that service to the cc processor. HMMM HOW DO THEY DO IT? By keeping peoples money. The interest is a lot. Interest? Thats right they are a brokerage house. How the heck do you think Ebay keeps buying up the competition and everything in its sights?
Oh and if you are so stupid to believe they don't lock accounts. Check the community board in Ebay and check the california courthouses and check out BBB complaints.

Paypal is so corrupt it is crazy. I can not believe the amount of people who are fooled into believing that they are protected.
I know for a fact they are being sued constantly. I would not trust them any further then I could throw them.
BTW pete show a little respect for others. How would you like it if someone called you a suck*ss for kissing up to paypal. Or even a dumb*ss for believing how good they are. So have a little respect for others.
Paypal has only proven one thing. The worse you treat people the more they want to use you.

ebay own paypal..
they got double profit out of ebay & paypal..
& guess what, nowdays all ppl that want to use ebay must have paypal account in place..
--
paypal shutdowns ppl without an explanation..
they acts like a bank but they dont follow the rules of the bank..
they can even shuts u down with all your money in it..
yup that's true.. it happen to me once..
-
i have USD 1000 in my paypal when they shuts me down..
having shuts me down.. they even email to all the buyers & inform them they shut me down for investigation.
the sad thing is.. items already been sent & 1/2 of the buyers file a complain to paypal & suck the money out of my account..
i'm so piss off... guess what..
after 2 weeks, they reinstate my account saying that i've provide evidence blah blah, & have a nice day & said keep using the paypal.. F*** **ff..
i've lost nearly USD 800.00 out of my stuff.. try to negotiate back to my buyers & the ones i've sent.. most of them says that item didn;t arrived & dont want to give me the $$$..
so they have my item for free!!!...
the end of the day i only have USD 450.00 in my account..
--
to those who are sellers on ebay..
make a backup plan via open a merchant account that accept paypal.. at least they fall under banks regulation & they are afraid of complains from customers..
& to those not sellers in ebay..
dont ever use paypal..

Thank you my friend, as I am just about to get into a situation that this pertains to with paypal, and upon reading this have decided to pull out. I have been skeptical of paypal recently.

I've used Paypal on hundreds of online transactions. I had an issue with them over the holidays over another totally unrelated issue. I wouldn't use anything but Paypal. I've used other services and those are the ones that the crooks prefer. It was using those sites, twice screwed over, that I learned my lesson.

I have used E Bay and Pay Pal for years without a problem, Those who have had problems are people who have fallen for an email scam that perports to be from EBay or Pay Pal, or they are simply stupid people who can't manage simple tasks. The site you cite admits to being a compilation of unsupported anecdotes and has less than no value. If these companies were scams, would they be so universally successful? What's the matter with you dummies? Have you ever heard of Urban Legends? I didn't think so. Google it.
