Buddy, What if u consider a website as good that wouldn't mean that its good for all others aswell.
Its a human perception.
India is a democratic country and nobody, I mean nobody has the right to influence others choices and rights and duties.
I'm sorry if I'm too harsh but, Gaining knowledge is not the only thing that a human being is born for.
More over its values and the surroundings like family and friends, Influence a persons nature not the Television or the Internet.
For Eg - how many of us do actually take time to speak to our parents, treated them like they are very special. Very few.

There are a number of reasons why they cannot block websites.
#1. many of the websites in question are hosted in other countries, or if you stopped american companies from hosting them, would suddenly be hosted in other countries.
#2. regulations which allow censorship, focus around the fact that thier is limited air through which to broadcast signal. So every Tv/radio station that puts out a signal over airwaves is regulated, and has to prove that they serve a public purpose. Many Tv stations do this by having the news on a few times a day. There is however no real limit to the number of websites possible to create and therefore no reason for the government to be able to regulate it.
#3. Pornography is determined by community standard. If a group of reasonable men and women determine that a website that is available in your area is actually pornographic, then you can seek to have the distributor found liable. You could get them to issue a court order stopping the distribution all together, because they cannot turn it off just in your area. You would have to do this for every site. And foriegn hosted sites may be hard to try and press charges against considering they do not have to follow american law.
#4. The internet was designed to be an unbreakable system. Specifically optimized that in case of nuclear war, transmission between locations still standing would be available. The internet is so robust that you can smash one provider and 8 more will pop up in its place. Its basically unregulatable by its very nature.
#5. All you can really do is install software on your machine that does not allow your children to go to these sites. Its not fail proof but it is the best option.

I have a right to look at **** if I want to. The internet has not, and should not be treated as a playground for children. If you have a child, get a program/service that blocks the sites. It can be done, but remember. The internet works by providing what you request to recieve. If you ask for sex sites, you get them. Its a different idea than the TV signals, where most sets have less than 150 channels (dispite number schemes going up to 999 fairly often) and the signal goes to you no matter what.

Our rulers and politicians, not necassarily. **** and adult sites in the United States is technically legal, unless said otherwise, but I highly doubt they will change that. Europe and other regions also have **** and it's a world wide thing. Parents are the ones who have to protect their children from it, and block some sites on the ISP and just see which sites their children are going to.

The problem with trying to ban certain sites is that you can have a site in one country and that site can be viewed in most countries in the world if not all of them, and the government of one country can not tell the government of another what to do.

To answer your question in a nutshell, the answer would be it is impossible, why the internet is so vast it would take you a million plus years to only scatch the surface of the web contents. I my self set rules on the content that I allow into my web, check your security options to suit you personally, and block sites that may offend, its quite easy really

It is possible only by the viewers. If complaints are lodged, rulers have no option but to ban the channel

You can set your computer to block any website that you do not want your computer to go to. It is the responsibility of the parents to control their own computer. Most **** sites are legal in the US, so legally they could not block them, click it>>
