We have Verizon DSL and a Linksys router. On the laptop computer, the wireless network status says "connected", but no internet page will load. Any clue as to how to troubleshoot this? Experience only please, no wiki or copy/paste!

Thanks for the first two answers - forgot to mention, the problem is intermittent. We've had days with no problems. the signal strength icon says "excellent". Any other ideas?

In Internet Explorer, click on Tools>Internet Options>Connections>Setup. This will open the connection setup wizard, which will lead you through setting up your internet connection on the laptop. Pretty simple, just follow the instructions. If you need live help, the Verizon helpline is 1-800-567-6789, and they all know how to set up an internet connection, wireless or wired.

Well is your router connected to the Modem ?
If Yes , does the router get an IP from your ISP ?
If No - Connect it :)

Can you ping www.yahoo.com, go to Start - Run - type CMD . in the command prompt type ping www.yahoo.com if you get replays then troubleshoot your browser if you don;t get any replays
I would suggest to unplug the modem and router, plug in the modem wait 1-3 minutes, plug in the router wait 1-3 minutes

then restart laptop.

Sorry you gave little information. I would suggest to stated do you have an IP on your laptop, what is it/ are you connected to your router or some naighbours ?
