My kitten likes water but I think that most cat's hate it. You shouldn't have to bath your cat, and if you do they sell a spray at wal mart or pet supplies that you just rub in and dry off that cleans them. I say getting your kitten used to water would be a good thing just for the sake of him not being afraid of it. Be aware though he might be a pain when he wants to play in the faucets and sleep in sinks like mine.lol

The cat could be ok bathing itself with the help of grooming. it is not likely mandatory to wash a medium hair. I unquestionably have a protracted haired cat who does basically advantageous grooming herself. now and returned she gets some mats yet with mushy combing, beginning from the ends first, i'm usually waiting to get them out. A medium hair should not be lots worry. the sole time I had to wash her grew to become into whilst she had a mat i could not get out and that i had to take her to a groomer. If with the help of twist of destiny, your medium hair ever does get a mat, be very careful attempting to get it out. you do not choose to reason hemorrhaging to the floor, so returned, initiate from the ends and gently artwork your thank you to the roots, basically such as you are able to your guy or woman hair. many times, cats of all breeds 'bathe' themselves until eventually they're ill or something is incorrect, wherein case you would be waiting to tell surprisingly quickly as a results of fact they initiate getting pungent. I unquestionably have a cat who got here down with an bigger respiratory an infection with fever and she or he stopped grooming for basically 2 days or so and she or he smelled surprisingly undesirable. savour your kitty.

If they get really messy you might have to give them a bath. My cat frequently rolls around in his own feces sometimes and does not clean himself, so he has to have frequent baths.
And it is true that if you get them used to water as kittens, it will be easier. He started being naughty early on and fought at first, but now he is a pro in the water.

I have 2 loge haired cats and they are inside cats, They do clean themselves but I like to bath them just to be sure they are really clean atleast every 2 weeks. They are used to it now. If they were in/outside cats it would be more probably because if they get on your furniture. It's up to you, if it's something you will be doing throughout there entire life.

Generally, no, you don't need to bathe a cat. Regular brushing will do them a world of good though, and if you start them early, they tend to love it. It's great bonding time, too.
My short hair cat LOVES to be brushed. My long hair cat is less fond of it, in fact we have to hold him down to do it, but he keeps himself immaculately clean and groomed. We've only found knots in his hair twice and they were tiny. Of course, I've never seen anyone, human or animal, as vain as that cat!

No cats clean themselves and it is not good for you to bathe them because they can catch a chill and get sick!

They shouldn't need a bath, unless they get dirty.
