Because we choose not to be. We choose not to have a living, right relationship with Christ therefore no peace. We choose to think happiness is being with someone, having something, being somewhere...but we never reach for the perfect love and contentment that is Christ Jesus. If we know Him and live in Him, we can "think the thoughts of God" and be happy. Our choice.

I am happy like 40% of my every day life too! In that 60% I'm like arguing with my husband or cleaning up messes around the house!

it is a choice !
I am happy not because of my circumstances but because that is my choice.

I cant help what people have done to me, but i can choose my response.I choose to be happy and try to be a gift to others !

Thats easy.

We all want more and more and more AND MORE...
But when we have more, we want even more.
If we cant have any more, we want something else!

How can we be happy when we have these huge voids of wanting things?

I'm guilty, but trying to fix it!
The average fisherman in Thailand is probably happier than the middle and upper class in the US combined..

Don't make things so general...I think many of the people haven't yet learned to live their lives in order to be happy too...

because most of us have not been in a war. we don't know what we got and how to appreciate people who are less fortunate than ourselves.
