My roomate is watching my cat for a couple of weeks but she hates the site and smell of wet food and my cat eats both dry food and wet food. Is there any way to get around it? Is there a cat food that I can have her feed my cat so they're both happy? Maybe a "moist" dry food?

Honestly, your cat will be fine if only fed dry food while you are gone if they have clean water daily. There are moist dry foods available, but they do dry out if not eaten in a timely manner. I would try them before you leave.

The cats are going to be stressed out enough if they are going to be in a strange place, so I would not recommend changing their diet. This could cause severe gastric upset and then your friend will not only have to smell the food, but also cat diarrhea. I don't think you want that and I'm sure you don't want your cats to be sick.

Sounds like you are in a predicament. My suggestion is for your friend to feed the cats in a room in which she doesn't go in. Maybe in a gest bathroom or the basement. Yes, she will have to smell it when she prepares it but I'm sure she can tolerate the smell for a few moments. On the other hand, you can just send the dry food since your cats are already use to that. You know they will eat it so they won't starve. Just make sure to take more than usual so they don't run out if that's the only thing they are going to have to eat. This would be a fair compromise, that way your friend will be happy and your cats won't get sick. Hope this helps!

The moist cat food would work but it also would spoil the cat and it does dry out if not eaten soon after put down you could try mixing up single servings in small zip-lock baggies and then she could just squeeze it out of the bag or cut it open and dump it into the bowl-if she lives with you then the smell shouldn't bother her that much!Or she would not live there!

Tendervittles. Its a soft moist "dry" food. See if your cat will eat these though before yu go away for 2 weeks. Otherwise, your cat should be OK eating only dry food fro 2 weeks. Just make sure your room mate understands that a FRESH bowl fo water has to be provided EVERY DAY.

I'd say just give her dry food, maybe with some water for those weeks. In actuality, those wet food cans are high in calories and not very good for them. She should really only get it once and awhile. It's kind of like fast food for us. Ok in moderation!

Just tell her to leave the window open so she can throw as much wet food as the kitty wants every day without having to smell the site or food.

Your roommate obviously must live in the same hours. Tell you roommate to toughen up or plug her nose when your cat gets her soft food. If you change the cats diet she'll probably get diarrhoea and if your roommate things soft cat food smell bad wait until she has to smell it from the other end, yuk!

switching cat food could make your cat sick, especially if you don't have time to slowly introduce it. Just have your cat limited to the dry food while your gone.
