their lyrics are only about sex and drugs and its completely denigrating for the women; besides you dont really need to know how to sing to pretend be a "reggaeton singer"

Do you speak/understand Spanish? I have to admit, many reggaeton songs are sexually explicit. But it's done quite poetically and with colorful wording that can't be duplicated to English. It will all ways sound better in Spanish. And, it's really cool to dance to!...so I think.

If you don't like, leave it alone.

Reggaeton is music, and it is off the chain!!! What do u mean its shouldn't be called music, it has lyrics and a beat, jus cus u don't like doesn't mean it's wack. I got sum good advice for you, SWITCH THE CHANNEL or Song. U probably dont even know spanish. Reggaeton talks about much more than sex, drugs, you jus hear about that becuzz thats what plays on the radio becuz it sells. Obviously you're listening to it if u know what they're talkin about. And for "Bafflingidiot81", reggaeton is degrating to Mexicans becuz it belongs to us, Panamanians and Puerto Ricans, peace!!! Go listen to your mariachi!!

Why are you even taking time to write about something you hate so much. If you don't like it don't listen to it. Personally I love reggaeton and not all songs talk about sex. What kind of music do you like?
Can you dance to it? Maybe you can't dance and that's why you can't stand it. Whether you like it or not reggaeton is here to stay, so stop your bit ching...
And to you bafflinidiot81 you need to keep your ridiculous comments about mexicanism to your self. I'm Mexican and not all mexican people think like you do. And to you Richie C you do not need to be talking about mexicans. Panamenians don't even have reggaeton artists.. Let me know if ya'll do...Reggaeton does not only belong to a certain group of people. The fans make it popular and they're from all over the world. CHICO.....!!!!!!!

Tell me about it! Along with Rap and Hip-Hop [which totally don't deserve to be capitalized in this sentence], reggaeton is the worst type of music ever!!!! Every single reggaeton song has that same beat to it, and the lyrics are so totally meaningless. I totally agree with you that reggaeton shouldn't be classified as music. I think reggaeton should just die, because it really can't be classified under anything except for crap.

thats a ridiculous statement...its music because it takes older latin styles such as merengue and updates it for the street culture. The sound originated in Puerto Rico, in 'maquesinas' (means warehouse or garage I think). I know that much and I barely speak Spanish. Yes, it does use a repetitive beat...but so did all of the pop songs in the 80's with their cheesy keytar production and people still liked those songs.

I like reggaeton...I remixed "Contacto" and put it on my myspace artist page.

it all sounds the same, and they can't think of anything decent to sing/i mean fumble over their own language over to the unrythmic noises and bangs in the background
