What would you like help with? Your fish has a tumor, it's not something that can go away with meds. I have never heard of tumors being contagious though.

If it is a tumor I'm afraid there is very little you can do about it. It could be a parasite which can be treated so watch for it to appear on other fish in the tank. If it does you need to treat the take for parasites. I would suggest a parasite medicine that contains copper as it works well against larger parasites that would cause such a lump. If no more appear on other fish it's tumor. Those can be caused by several different things a few of which can possibly be spread to other fish when the infected fish dies. No matter what, remove the infected fish before it dies. You can humanely kill it by putting it in a small amount of water and putting it in the freezer.

Sorry to have to tell you that, but that's the best course of action in the vast majority of cases like this one. Yes, you lose that fish, but you protect the others in the tank.

Tumors affect individual fish - not the whole school. Parasites affect both and some of them can look like lumps. But assuming it is just a tumor all you can do is make sure that the fish keeps up a quality of its life until the time that it needs to be humanely euthanized. If it is a tumor then I would not really worry too much about the rest of the school. :)

All living things are affected by cancer... Cancer can spread through the body of the fish that develop cancer but will not go into another fish. Totally safe for the other fishes but the Tetra is going to die. Since your fish developed cancer... here is something you have to think about... since humans develop lung cancer by smoking or due to environment.... what do you think might have made your fish develop cancer caused by in your tank.... you have to stop that source....

It can be chemicals you use in your tank and if the chemicals gave your fish cancer, you can get it from the same chemicals because I once saw on a label on an algae killer solution that there was a chemical in there that causes cancer so beware.(They wrote it really small so people can't see it.... so when some unsuspecting victim buy it.... well lets just say they were not so lucky...)

there are tumors that can be hosted by snails and things. usually tumors aren't passed directly from one fish to another though. maybe you could put your tetra in a separate bowl if you are worried.

First, do you have a second tank? If so, make this tank a "sick tank". Move your sick fish into this one. be sure to use the same water from the original tank. To prevent shock. Then, you can buy some melafix (I think this is how you spell it). Treat your sick one till better. And, yes, if you do not transfer your sick fish, it will cause your others to die.

That's old for a tetra. Maybe consider euthanasia with clove oil.
