Why do I always get this caller ID number? They call about nine times in a row, most of the time late at night when I am sleeping. Its getting annoying. And why I rule out a telemarketer is because I am on the National Do Not Call list and my state D N C list. What could it be?

Usually, this is what shows up on the caller ID when someone has blocked their number from public view. It could also be out of area and not available.

Don't assume that it's not a telemarketer. I have had to tell people that I am on the no call list before. ALSO -- if you have credit problems, it could be a creditor calling. They can call you anytime they want... it's unfortunate, but true.

Unfortunately, unless you answer the phone, you may never know who is calling you. Obviopusly, that's what the caller is banking on.

Do Not Call lists do NOT apply to companies that you have done business with! Can you believe that? Every credit card, retail store, anyplace you have purchased something and registered it, enables them to call you.

That said, 000 caller-ID can be a high-tech system that simply feeds a bogus caller-ID to the network. Now, THAT may be a bit on the questionable side of the LAW, but not sure.

I am guessing it is either a telemarketer, or an automated FAX machine.

Oh, honey - get real. That's no guarantee that you won't get calls.

I used to get the all zero's caller id at work... it turned out to be a phone bank somewhere in Asia trying to sell me life insurance or something (I don't remember exactly).

A reverse cell phone lookup service I have used is http://reversephone.toptips.org

Enter the number in the system and they will tell you a lot of informations about the phone number and the person who owns it.
If they have extra details you will have to pay for the report.
Free reverse phone lookup sites generally don't provide anything interesting. To get further information, money will have to be paid. The free searches do not provide much more than what can be found through the phone book.
The best thing is that you can get informations about anyone!!

just because your on the D N C list does not mean they (telemarketers) will care that is most likely who is calling they are the only ones I know of that can make there # appear like that

It could be an unlisted number.
