Yup, like the Azoo palm filter:

And there are also a variety of small sponge filters.

So, yes, there are filters for 1 gallon tanks. However, there aren't fish for 1 gallon tanks. Even small fish like tetras and guppies need much more swimming room that one gallon, and fish that are known to be fine in small tanks like goldfish and bettas, actually need much more room than that to be healthy.

Edit: Yes, you CAN put a betta in a 1 gallon tank. You can cram it full of baby oscars, too, but it doesn't mean they'll survive and be healthy. The proof is in the puddin' :) A betta in a 1 gallon will not live as long and not be as healthy, active, or colourful as a betta in a nice 5 gallon tank. Even following the 1 inch per gallon rule (which doesn't really apply, because most small fish are schoolers, and highly active ones, needing at least 10 gallons - so, ya, you could put 10 neon tetras in a 10 gallon tank - but you can't put 1 in a 1 gallon tank) bettas can easily grow to 3+" long.

And permit me to ask this: would you say "it's her choice" if she were cramming a kitten into a hamster cage?
Some rules can be bent by the knowledgeable, but not the basic rules of space and movement.

I agree with Zoe. It is a waste of your money and your fishes' lives to get a 1 gallon tank. If you haven't bought one yet, don't. If you've bought one, then yeah, get the filter, but remember, for freshwater community fish, the rule is: 1 inch of fish per 1 gallon of water. One betta would be okay. No goldfish at all can survive in a one gallon aquarium by theirselves or otherwise.

Are there any fish that can survive in 1 gallon tank also?

If it's only one gallon, I recommend change water by yourself. Why waist money on the filter?
You can change water 1/3 at a time, about 1-2 week interval.
Remember use water you can drink, unless it's ocean fish. If you use tab water, let the water sit for more than 12 hours so chloride evaporate off.

i dont recommend 1 gallon tanks for any fish i kinda think its cruel and they need room to grow but there are filters i bought one for my fiddler crab tank but the only reason the water is so low is cause they need access to land. walmart sells them for 15 bucks.

no there are not. because most 1 gallon fish tanks, are fish bowls. most companies expect you to clean a fish bowl on your own, its not to hard. just take the fish out into a seperate container, that is clean and the same temperatere water. then clean the bowl, and the plants, and put the fish back in! no prob!
