WE HAVE A DISHWASHER THAT WAS USED LAST, A MONTH AGO, WE WENT UP NORTH TO FRESNO FOR NEW YEAR'S AND SINCE THEN THE WATER HASN'T DRAINED OUT. WHAT DO YOU GUYS RECOMMEND WE DO? IT'S NOT FULL OF FOOD BITS AND STUFF, AND WE NEVER ALLOWED ANY ITEMS TO LINGER IN THE DISHWASHER. WE TRIED RUNNING IT AGAIN BUT THAT DIDN'T WORK. ANY IDEAS?

I'm assuming that you've detached the drain hose from the disposal and checked for blockage (both in the hose and in the neck of the disposal where it clamps on).

If there is no obstruction, then either the pump has failed, or the solenoid controlling the drain valve has failed... or the relay and/or control wiring that actuates them has failed. If you don't know how to troubleshoot this yourself, you should have a tech look at it. Often, these days, it's cheaper to replace a dishwasher than to have it repaired, depending on the component that has failed. The efficiency and energy savings of a newer unit (depending on your unit's age) may well offset the difference in the price between repairing yours (parts and labor) and the cost of a new dishwasher altogether.

If you want to troubleshoot it, check for voltage at the solenoid and the pump motor when the unit starts the drain cycle.

Never put peelings in a Disposal, not apple and not potato, - the catch in the drain where the pipe from the Disposal connect to the Pee Trap, take it apart at the Pee Trap, but put a bucket under there to catch dirty water from the trap- use rags under it also, the long tube coming from the disposal will have a piece of plastic blocking half that tube and that is where the peeling catch.

it`s probably clogged at the disposal or the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher
