my father wants to have an intercom system with 2 phones. how do i convet them and make it so they ring when needed?

I got a phone like that...its a uniden and I also can use it as a 2-way and a room monitor....and its not that expensive, but its worth it!

The talking part is easy; the ringing is not. If you connect the two phones in series with each other and about a 6 volt battery, a conversation can be had. But ringing requires a source of 20 Hz current, at about 90 volts, and this is hard to find. You may want to set up a separate doorbell or buzzer circuit for signaling.
