Just go in normaly. You don't have to do any special preparations.
My husband comes with me to my u/s and we take our 2 year old and 10 month old in with us. The room isn't big but they sit so well. I take them milk and juice and some snacks to keep them occupied.
But as far as me, i don't drink or eat anything i normally wouldn't.
My appts. are always in the morning so i just have breakfast as usual, some orange juice and then of we go.
Good luck

I'm sure they will. People are usually really nice when you're getting an ultrasound. I suggest you drink some apple juice right before so the baby will be more active during the ultrasound. I was advised to bring a video tape for them to record the ultrasound for me. Hope this helps & good luck! =)

They shouldn't have a problem with your child coming in, especially at the dr.'s office as opposed to the hospital.

And, you shouldn't have to drink anything special. I don't think drinking x amount of water is the standard nowadays, because I never had to drink anything at all for my 3 ultrasounds when I was pregnant, and I had great visuals every time!!! Baby moved a lot and everything!!

Good luck!

Yes they will allow your 7yr old in the room as long as he does not get in the way. Drink about 3-4 glasses of water {8 ounces} your bladder will be so full by then there shouldnt be any problems seeing your little baby. Most parents ask about the babies weight and ask what they are looking at. My daughter went to all my ultrasounds and I had many. Started at 2 x's a month then went to weekly once I got to 26 weeks. They were very much welcoming of my daughter and I think it thrilled her just as much to see the baby growing as it did us. And this was at a major medical facility.

You need to call the tech center and ask them. My u/s tech center prefered that we not bring other children unless there was someone else with us. Most of the time you don't have to drink much before the u/s, but you might want to consider a nice big glass of water. But call them before you go so that you're prepared. You can ask them all the questions you want. That's what they are there for.

well, at my doctors office they let pretty much anyone you want in for the 20 week ultrasound, other than that just one person can be with you. i've had 3 done already and my mom was with me for the first one because i didn't even know i was going to have it till the doctor wanted to confirm my due date. then i had the 20 week to check growth and try to find out the gender and then i had a 24 week to check growth again, my husband was with me for the last 2.

i didn't have to drink anything or do anything special for any of them.

It depends where your having it done. If it's at a hospital, some are more strict than others. If it's at a doctor's office they may be less strict. You would have to ask your ob and see what the rules state. I was told I had to drink 2 lg. size bottles of water, before my ultrasounds. Especially if your early in your pregnancy. Good Luck and Congrats!

you'll have toask the doc.. every place has different rules about it... as far as being prepared, you just need to make sure your bladder is full otherwise it will be a waste of time... my doc told me to drink 40oz. of water before with my last pregnancy... ugh.... dont do it... as long as your bladder is full and you have to pee that will be fine... We had to travel 30 miles to my doc and wait in the waiting area for another 30 minutes before going back... oh it was sooooo miserable.. this time I knew better, and my ultrasound at 9 weeks came out just fine!!! Good Luck and congrats!!

Depends on where you go. For my second child, my younger son was able to come in. This is my third (due april 17th) and when I went to get my US they told me no younger siblings were able to come in. Why I have no idea, but it's alright. I plan on having both my children in the delivery room when I go, my doctor said she encourages it! So really it depends on where you go.

They usually tell you to drink a full glass of water just before you go, for good proper measure ments. When I went I had to pee so bad though and went while waiting, just couldn't hold it!!! They made me drink a full glass while in there and waited for ten minutes.... I think it's rather silly to ask a pregnant woman to wait with a full bladder...
Good luck!
