I haven't used them before and i wanna know the advantages of electric ones comparing to "manual ones" apart from easiness.

also i noticed that the price varies from a few pounds to hundreds of pounds...I've no idea at all!

Well the cheap ones (I am talking less then £10 here) are not really that good as all they do is vibrate. And are not rechargeable - that is, they take normal AA batteries so are costly in the long run anyhow. The more expensive ones (£25 and up or so) actually rotate and have up and down motions so are a better design. For the ones that range from £25 - £100 (or even more) there really isn't much difference in them in my opinion. Most of the more expensive ones just have extra features such as a timer to remind you you have been brushing for 2minutes, require less recharging, more pulsations per minute, and include more tools. So really if you spend somewhere between £25-£40 you will get what you need without being ripped off. I suggest you have a look in the Argos catalogue as they have a good description of features, so you can make an informed choice as which one is good for you!! Look out for sales. I bought my electric toothbrush in the sale - it was originally £60 but i got mine for £32. They are definately a good investment!! Make your teeth feels so much more cleaner than a manual toothbrush!

Research consistently shows that electric toothbrushes remove more plaque than manual toothbrushes. The cheaper electric brushes uses batteries. The more expensive ones are rechargable, so you don't have to worry about replacing batteries. With the more expensive ones, the frequency at which the bristles move is faster. As a hygienist, I've been given many brushes to try, and my personal favorite is the Sonicare Elite. I like it better than the Oral-B sonic brush. There are electric toothbrushes that are not "sonic" brushes and they do just as good. I've seen the difference an electric toothbrush can make in a patient's mouth. It's worth the investment.

It's a good investment to buy the best rechargeable one you can afford. The very cheap ones are not rechargeable and if you're cleaning your teeth for 3 minutes at a time, the batteries will run out after a few uses.

Electric toothbrushes reach everywhere in the mouth and are particularly good for cleaning the underneath of the back teeth that you can't get to with an ordinary toothbrush. They clean the teeth and massage the gums in a circular movement which is the way to avoid plaque, cavities and gum disease.

The electric ones give you a little vibration. I've used many over the years and haven't found any that work better than the $5 ones sold now with the disposable batteries.

The sonic ones are fantastic. I've used one for more than a year and can thoroughly recommend it. It cost £112 though! Worth every penny - your teeth and your smile are sooooo important x x

A MANUAL TOOTHBRUSH MAY BE JUST AS GOOD AS ONE COSTING MUCH MORE.THE ADVANTAGES TO SOME ELECTRIC MODES IS THAT THE BRUSH BRISTLES MOVE MUCH FASTER THAN THE TRADITIONAL MANUAL TYPE.
AS FAR AS COST? THERE EXISTS A WIDE GAP IN MODEL PRICES. USUALLY, THE MORE FEATURES, THE GREATER THE COST.
REMEMBER, YOU USUALLY GET WHAT YOU PAID FOR.

I you are going to get one go for the "sonic" varieties. I picked mine up on Ebay for about £15.

They are much faster than the traditional type electric toothbrush & leaving your teeth feeling squeaky clean.

Mine is a Braun oral B like this one
