only the base if having problems check 2nd handset is registered thats it as easy as 123

No, only the main handset. The other handset gets it's signal for the main one.

Only you base unit needs landline and electric socket for power, secondary handset only needs electric socket.
******************IMPORTANT TIP********************************
If you have a power cut your phones won't work unless you have battery back up!!!!
