Port Canaveral is about 45 min from IA (the air port) is your coming form the turnpike than it could take about an hour depending on what time you go and what highway your on. The worst time to drive any where in Orlando is between 7:30 am 9:00am and 4:30 and 6:00pm Trust me I leave her and go through it every day. But I love this Place.

It's basically Orlando, yes. From the main city part of it, it's maybe 30-45 minutes at the absolute most. All depends on traffic.
However: I would never recommend cruising out of Port Canaveral. It has the reputation of being one of the worst ports for cruises, and that's true. We just came back from a cruise over the weekend and got held up because of a poorly mapped out customs line for about an hour (but we were one of the earlier ones off the ship, I felt bad for the long line behind us!)

Orlando is in the center part of Florida

PC is about a 30 minute bus ride from the Orlando airport. Its on the coast, Orlando is inland. Check a map.
