we just evaluate our trait whether they are dominant or recessive and got the percentage in class. whats the importance?

You are learning about dominant and recessive traits. When you can relate it to your own traits it makes more sense. Then you can understand it better.

it's just a simple way of showing how most recessive traits are present in fewer people because they can easily be "written over" by the dominant traits. this can be explained by punnett squares

ex. blonde hair: bb
brown hair: Bb
black hair: BB
bbxBB = Bb, bbxBb= Bb/bb, BbxBb= BB/2Bb/bb, bbxbb=bb

you'll see how the results of the crosses usually eliminate the recessive trait in punnett squares.

punnett squares provide an approximate percentage of how many people should have each trait. your teacher will probably explain this monday.
