My 1st choice is Sen Sam Brownback R-KS. Not well known now but should appeal to the base a lot better than McCain or Giuliani. He has a very solid Senate record.

I can't see Gingrich getting any traction.

The Republican who has the best chance of winning the general election, Rudy Gulianni, has NO chance of winning the nomination. The party is too conservative.

Unless the Republicans make moves to the center like the Democrats have, they're doomed in 2008.

EDIT: McCain won't get the nomination either. The party as a whole doesn't trust him.

Based on my world view and what I know of certain candidates and their positions on important issues, my vote goes to either Patrick Buchanan or U.S. Rep. Tom Tancredo (CO). Both of these gentlemen are passionate about the most important issue facing America: invading hordes who are destroying this nation by force of numbers. Despite what the present administration and some in the press and Congress say, terrorism is not the number one issue. I have never heard anyone, outside of the media and government put much emphasis and concern about terrorism. I do, however, frequently hear people voicing their opinions about immigration (legal and illegal). Some couch their concerns in political correct terms and appologies, but their concern is there, nevertheless. The unbrainwashed do not hesitate to voice their disgust and anger over the situation and seem quite ready to take whatever action is necessary and practicable. This is not to say that terrorism is something that we should ignore, but it takes a back seat to the population invasion that is weighing on the nation. To be sure, there are other patriotic Americans that put America First and who are willing to fight for our national sovereignty, but these two gentlemen are the only ones right now who seem the most genuinely passionate about the issue. There are also other political parties too, and if the Republican party does not select a nationalist and patriot to run in 2008, I will vote for the candidate in a 3rd party that is a true nationalist and patriot who puts America and her taxpaying citizens first. Frankly, I am sick of hearing only about the Demonocraps and the Repugnantcans. By and large, these two parties are more interested in protecting other nation's borders, rights of criminals and hordes of illegal aliens, exporting jobs and industries, importing cheap labor, patting themselves on the back, and getting ready for the next election.

Wake up America and smell the stench of decay!!!!!!!

Newt Gingrich. He actually has ideas that this country needs to insure its solvency through the coming decades re Social Security. He could slice and dice Sillary in a debate without breathing hard. She is an idiot and a leftist so extreme that only Stalin could love her. But Newt is too smart to run. The media would crucify him for even trying. He doesn't need the aggravation...

Tancredo actually has a plan about illegal immigration, but now that Bush gave them social security benefits, they could probably sue the government if the US did kick them out.

Hard to tell at this time. All I can say is be sure to look into the candidates history. Mainly in the area of what they believe and the actions to match. Make sure they do not have a history of flip flopping around.
