While a flat tax rate would be nice. However it still doesn't catch the people working under the table who are not paying there fair share of taxes. A national sales taxes mean you buy it your taxed on it. It would would also put more money in the tax payers hand so it will help the ecomony. The bigger the paycheck the more to spend. No exemptions from the National sales tax you buy it your taxed on it. Unless your stealing the merchandise your paying taxes. If a person is stealing now they can be charge with the regular crime plus tax evasion.

AMEN Brother! I've read Boortz's book and the last I heard it was in the hands of a state senator form MO. The Flat tax is just a variation of the current system. Tax German tourists and bring the other businesses back home! Encourage saving- the list goes on! Gimme my WHOLE pay check, price of consumables drops....

The Poor don't get hurt at ALL, but what about those poor lobbiests on K street...?

BTW, the fair tax is a national inclusive sales tax, in case you didn't know.

No, because while the fair tax is a nice idea, it really wouldn't bring in as much money and would hurt the poor disproportionately more then it would the rich. It would be in effect, another big Tax cut for the rich at the expense of the poor. Besides, what your rate have to be to even match the money going to the treasury these days? 30%? 40% in there somewhere certainly...

The Fair Tax is Anything but.

Yes, because the Fair Tax gets rid of all payroll taxes including social security and medicade taxes. You get to get your entire paycheck.

I think we will be forced to go to the fair tax because while on paper the social security system is in the black, the fact is it's going to run into a cash flow problem within a few years. Going to the Fair tax would solve that problem.

Amen. Something drastic has to be done about federal income taxes in America ... it's got to be simplified and more fairly balanced for the tax payers.

No, Replace it with a national sales tax. That way, nobody has to file, keep records, be audited, or tell a bunch of bureaucrats how much money you made.
