Go to a vacant area of your Desktop > Right Click > Properties > Settings > Advanced > Monitor > Tick the box that says "Hide settings this Monitor can not display"


Set the monitor to 60Hertz and work up.

Note: Windows 98 is obsolete and no longer supported by Microsoft. You should think about upgrading/replacing your computer.

you just start the system in safe mode, it is started then go to the Start -> settings->control Panel->Power Options(Settings)-> set the Power Scheme Always On and OK
Restart the system.
2.
In Safe Mode RT Click on My Computer-> Properties->Device Manager, delete the the display Adopter and then OK
Restart.

I really not sure. I clicked; Start>Help>click "Index" Tab and type Resolution in the search box, click display and you get about 4 or 5 things to read.
