why would there be smoke out of hood of truck after it rains?

yeah the antifreeze was empty..but was that the problem?..i refilled it back up..dodge truck

Yes the antifreeze being empty can cause serious damage to your car. I would suspect that it was steam coming from under the hood of your truck rather than smoke.

Natural steam if the antifreeze wasnt the problem. Cold rain hitting the hot radiator creates steam

Cold water from the rain on the hood causes a steam like condition.
