i need to know what it means, for a book i am reading called parallel journeys...... i tried to google it but even the english results didnt make sense....so does anyone have any idea what a Sondermeldung could be????

the Sondermeldung, or "special announcements," that periodically interrupted normal radio programming to announce victories, after the reading of which a snappy contemporary march would be played.

it's a special announcement. like you watch pro7 (a channel) and then it sais: "today at 2am, ... did ... , we'll have a special report about it in the 5:50 pm news" or something. It's usually not spoken, but written on the screen.
