Yes, I have received many picture frames as gifts. I got many as wedding gifts and I truly like them (luckily they were all nice and matched my taste).

Think of all the pictures you have taken in the last year or so.....how many have you framed... any? This is a real nice gesture for you to frame that moment in your life that you would like to recall or relive a little more often than other times. Put a picture in it and cheerish it for the great gift that it really is.

LOL - yes I have gotten that as a gift. It's the "safe" gift - when you don't know what the hell to give someone. It is really impersonal, unless you know for a fact that person LOVES to frame pictures.

He/she may (depending on the frame) expect you to put a picture of the two of you in it, but generally if that is the idea, the person will include a picture already enclosed in the frame.

I got an empty frame from one of my coworkers/friends for my baby's ultrasound pic... I felt it was thoughtful.

I have never received picture frames before, but I'm sad to admit that I have given some people picture frames.

Gotten isn't a word..
It seems a strange gift, Maybe if she put a picture in it of the two of you it would seem nicer, and show some thought..
